2023 Membership Renewal

Dear WFC Member,
 
First and foremost, we want to thank you for your continued membership, support, and investment in the Washington Fire Chiefs Association (WFC). Without your involvement, we would not be able to continuously provide our members with the advocacy and representation that we deliver for the Washington Fire service. Simply put, your membership makes what we do possible.
This has been a busy year, learning to navigate this post-pandemic world.
  • Updates to your membership. In 2022, a technical advisory group made up of a diverse group of members of the association, reviewed the WFC membership structure and recommended changes that the WFC membership reviewed and unanimously voted to support at the WFC Business meeting. Because of these changes you may see your membership fees change. If you are a smaller agency, your fee may be reduced. Larger agencies may find themselves in a new higher category based on their assessed value. In addition, all assessed values were updated based on 2021 county assessment documents. Due to the inflation we saw this past year, many agencies may find themselves in a new assessed value category.
  • Quantifying the impacts of Law Enforcement Reform on the Washington fire service and advocating for clarification from the Attorney General and Legislature. We saw some relief from this issue as the Governor signed in a law clarifying many of the questions that surrounded the initial legislation.
  • Legislative efforts and working with our friends and partners continue throughout the year. We work to provide oversight, improvements or if needed, clarification on harmful or misinformed legislative efforts. We were very pleased to have success working with the LEOFF Board and our fire service partners to finally achieve meaningful improvements to our pension system that will benefit all the members in the LEOFF 2 pension program. This past legislative session being held virtually continued to provide many challenges and we will be watching closely the upcoming 2023 session and how the legislature proceeds.
  • Representation. The WFC continues to have numerous active sections and committees as well as provides state-level representation with liaisons across the greater Washington state infrastructure landscape. The members who fill these positions and serve with committee assignments or as liaisons all commit their time and effort to support the WFC efforts and provide fire service oversight that benefits us all.
 
TO RENEW: The Fire Chief will be receiving an invoice for your organization's membership in their email this afternoon. You may pay that invoice via check, or log into your account and select "Invoices" on the left-hand side to pay with a credit card. To review the people associated with your membership and make changes, simply log in and select the “My Associates” option. You will find the individuals associated with your agency listed under the drop-down. If you need to add people to your membership, you may select the option to add a new contact. If you do not see the "My Associate" option please contact the office at 360-352-0161 or via email (wfc@washingtonfirechiefs.org) and we will ensure you have the correct account type. If you are an admin and need access to the invoice or payment for the membership, please email staff and we can provide you access to the invoice in your account.
