COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This in-person four-day course will instruct students on the basic duties and responsibilities of a Fire and Life Safety Educator Level 1. This course will prepare students for the written exam and practical evaluations for the IFSAC Fire and Life Safety Educator 1 certification. Students will be trained in selection of educational materials specifically designed for target audiences to reduce risk in their communities. They will demonstrate their ability to coordinate and deliver community fire and injury prevention programs through multiple presentation methods. The course will also teach students how to evaluate and document the effectiveness of each educational program through written reports. A written test will take place on the 4th day of the class and students will be expected to pass with a score of 70% or higher. The practical evaluation will follow the written test and students will be expected to deliver a lesson they develop during the course, demonstrating in a blended fashion, tasks on the skill sheets.
No course prerequisites.
Required Materials: IFSTA Fire and Life Safety Educator, 3rd edition. *Textbook not included in class fee*

CANCELLATION:
The WFC is obligated to pay certain costs to the conference facilities and instructors; for this event we have a 50% cancelation policy, up until March 13, 2024 after which there are no refunds. However, we are always happy to substitute a registration should someone else from your agency wish to attend.

Air Systems and Foundation Brakes Operation and Function testing
Taught by Advanced Diagnostics Consulting LLC.
This comprehensive Air Systems and Foundation Brakes Class will cover air system theory and operation. Beginning with the charging system and working through to the foundation brakes. Expect to learn the operation, inspection and testing of the entire system. In addition, you will learn what you need to be considered a qualified inspector. The hands-on portion will cover system testing and setup of push rods, slack adjusters, and air disc calipers. Each participant will be provided a binder complete with service data sheets and inspector qualification documents.

To participate in EVT Testing you must register with the EVT Commission at http://www.evtcc.org/ 21 days before the test date.
