Chelan County Fire District #3 is establishing a hiring list for the position of Chief of Support Services and Prevention.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The requirements below must be accomplished by the time of hire:
- Age Requirement:Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
- Educational Requirement:Candidates must have a high school diploma or have passed an equivalency test (GED). Possession of an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science or closely related field OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Candidates must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License without record of suspension or revocation.
- Possess at least three (3) years of career experience in the fire service in a position equal to or greater than Captain or equivalent.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- : Must live within a reasonable response time of Station 31 in Leavenworth
- Physical Standards: Must be able to pass the NWCG Wildland Firefighter Pack Test at the arduous level annually.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong, proven, dynamic interpersonal communication skills
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certificate
- NWCG red card certification to Task Forcer/Strike Team Leader or above
- College Degree (or Credit) – Fire, EMS, or general university studies
- International Fire Code Inspector – skill and knowledge in the use and implementation of the IFC
- Computer skills – ability to work with current technology
- Prescribed fire/Firewise Experience
- Other Certifications – any additional training and/or experience in emergency services

SELECTION Process
The hiring process may be modified at any time depending on the needs of the Fire District. If a modification is made, an attempt shall be made to notify the candidates as soon as possible. Candidates should plan for the following:
- Interview

- On site day with evening Q & A
- Final Interview – if needed
- Physical and Psychological Exam
TERMS and conditions
Contractual Employment: This position will have an employment contract with 1 year probation.
