The Kootenai County EMS System (KCEMSS) is a fire-based ambulance service providing 911 emergency and facility-to-facility transfers throughout Kootenai County. KCEMSS operates through a network of agencies, including nine fire departments and one nonprofit EMS organization. KCEMSS has a budget of $10,658,836 for the upcoming fiscal year and responded to approximately 18,000 requests for service last year.
