Bio: Chief Morrow began his fire service journey in 1986, starting as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Sunriver Fire Department in Central Oregon. In 1989, Chief Morrow became a Career Firefighter with the City of West Linn and, after many years, finished in the Oregon Fire Service as the Deputy Fire Chief of Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue in 2016. During this period, Chief Morrow moved across all ranks, was a Paramedic for over two decades, and participated as a special team’s member.
After moving to Washington, Chief Morrow served as the Fire Chief of Pierce County Fire District #16 and, in December 2021, was appointed Fire Chief of Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. With the current consolidation efforts underway in Pierce County, Chief Morrow also serves as the Fire Chief for Orting Valley Fire & Rescue and Graham Fire & Rescue.
Chief Morrow has taken many steps to ensure he has a broad mix of experiences, certifications, and education, including an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Leadership.
Interacting in an increasingly expansive professional network, both in and out of the fire service, is something Chief Morrow strives for to stay current with industry mandates and trends. Chief Morrow is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs – Western Division and leads the communications working sub-group of the IAFC Technology Council, along with being a member of the Washington Fire Chiefs Association and the National Fire Protection Association. Maintaining a strong presence and connection to the community is extremely important to Chief Morrow. He enjoys interacting and giving back to the community with his supportive wife and adult boys alongside him.
In his spare time, Chief Morrow is an avid motorcyclist and is known to have a Land Rover or two that keeps him busy.
